The Soil and Water Conservation Cost-Share Program is a state funded incentive program designed for the purpose of saving the soil through erosion abatement and sediment control. The cost share program is intended to provide financial incentives to landowners to install practices that prevent or control excessive erosion, such as terraces and water impoundment reservoirs. Landowners can request cost share reimbursements up to 75% of the county average rate or the actual cost, whichever is less. The landowner will be reimbursed after the practice is complete and meets NRCS standards and specifications.
In order to qualify for cost share, the soils present must either be eroding excessively or must be experiencing active gully erosion. Cost share assistance may only be provided to the legal owner of the property in which the practice will be installed. The landowner must be a cooperator with the Conservation District and have an approved conservation plan.
