The Stoddard County Soil and Water Conservation District is dedicated to providing technical, educational, and financial resources to meet the needs of the local landowners and producers. In partnership with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the District is able to provide assistance to landowners in controlling soil erosion by applying conservation practices on the land. The District participates in several activities throughout the county to promote conservation and environmental education. The District hopes these educational programs will encourage future generations to help conserve our most valuable resources: SOIL and WATER.
The Soil and Water Conservation Districts are funded by Missouri’s one-tenth-of-one-cent Parks and Soils Sales Tax. Stoddard County receives funds from this tax for administration and technical purposes, information and education, and cost-share monies for landowners installing conservation practices.
