Approved Practices available through the Scott County SWCD
The Soil and Water Conservation Cost-Share Program is a state funded program that offers incentives that are designed to save soil through the erosion and sediment control. The first step in receiving technical and financial help is to contact the district office if there is an erosion problem. To qualify the landowner must have a USDA farm number, are experiencing an erosion problem, and be the legal owner. If these criteria’s are met there will be a conservation plan approved by NRCS and District Board of Supervisors. The cost-share application will then be approved and will reimburse the landowner up to 75% of the county average rate or the actual cost whichever is less. The landowner will be reimbursed after the practice is complete and meets NRCS standards and specifications.
