SCOTT COUNTY SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT
The Scott County Soil and Water Conservation District was established in April of 1963.
The Scott County SWCD encourages landowners to reduce erosion and improve water quality through technical, educational, and financial incentives. Technical assistance is provided by the Natural Resources Conservation Service to assist landowners in applying conservation practices on the land. Â Partnerships with NRCS and University of MO Extension allow the district to provide information/education through workshops, tours, field days.
The Soil and Water Conservation District is funded by Missouri’s one-tenth-of-one-percent Parks and Soils Tax. Scott County receives these funds to administer funds and for technical, information/education purposes, and cost-share practices.
